The more I read these articles about Meaningful Use (MU), the more it makes sense. Keith and the team continue to make huge efforts to present the latest facts in clear English. This is a huge challenge considering how confusing the MU rules and regulations are.

2013 is a critical year for radiology and RIS/PACS vendors to take part in Meaningful Use or prepare to pay future financial consequences. The MU train has left the station!

Remember, a PACS or RIS is an EHR in the context of Meaningful Use. This is the year RIS/PACS vendors should align to clarify their ability to support MU attestation. It’s time to stop the hype and spin. Meaningful Use isn’t going away! It is a precursor to the larger effort of CMS and the U.S. government to push the industry towards a quality based reimbursement model.
